The host Qatar became the champion for the second time in a row in the AFC Asian Cup which ended on Saturday. Qatar defeated Jordan 3-1 while winning the title for the second time in a row.
Akram Afif, who was in excellent form throughout the tournament, scored a hat-trick in the match at Lusail Stadium. Qatar took the lead in the 22nd minute of the game with Afif's goal. However, in the 67th minute, Yajan Al-Naimat equalized for Jordan.
However, in the 73rd minute of the game and at the end of the injury time, Afif completed the hat trick by scoring two consecutive goals from the penalty and played a decisive role in helping the home team win the title and defend the title.
In terms of legislation, Qatar is dominant
In the same way, Qatar was dominant in the legislative awards. Akram Afif, who scored a total of 8 goals throughout the tournament, won the Golden Boot for being the top scorer and the Golden Ball for being the best player of the tournament.
Qatar's Mishal Barsham was declared the best goalkeeper, while Qatar also won the fair play award. A total of 24 teams participated in Asia's prestigious football tournament that started on January 12.
The next edition of the tournament will be held in Saudi Arabia in 2027.
