
India defeated Maldives 1-0 in the last match of the group stage under the SAFF U-20 Championship.
After two consecutive wins, India has entered the semi-finals as the winners of Group B. India scored 6 points in two games. Maldives lost two matches and got out of the group stage with no points. After India defeated Maldives, Bhutan entered the semi-finals as the runner-up of Group B. Manglenthang Kipgen scored the decisive goal for India in the fifth minute of injury time.
Already from Group A, home teams Nepal and Bangladesh have entered the semi-finals. Nepal became the winner of Group A by winning two matches and Bangladesh became the runner-up and reached the semi-finals.
Now the home team Nepal will compete with Bhutan, the runner-up of Group B in the semi-finals. Similarly, former winners India will play Group A runners-up Bangladesh in the semi-finals.
