Jhapa: Phanda Singh Pande Memorial District Wide Football Championship Kicks Off

Phanda Singh Pande memorial district wide football championship got underway at Bahungandi, Jhapa on Thursday.

Sanischare youth club defeated New Star club, Khopbadi in sudden death to enter second round. Both teams had played 1-1 draw in regulation time.

Goalie Sanjaya Gurung became the man of the match. He received Rs 2,000 cash.

Eight teams are participating in the championship, which has a winning purse of Rs 61,000.

Earlier Mechinagar ward number 4 chairman Nabin Baral inaugurated the championship in presence of Jhapa DFA president Bhagirath Ale MAMA and other guests.
