
Jhapa 11 Football Club has entered the semi-finals of the ongoing Bhadrapur Jhapa Gold Cup.
Jhapa 11 made it to the last four by defeating Church Boys United in today's match. Jhapa 11 registered a 2-1 victory over Church Boys. Aaron Thapa Magar and captain Pema Tamang scored for Jhapa 11. Similarly, Vikram Dhimal scored a consolation goal for Church Boys. In the first half, Aaron Thapa Magar of Jhapa 11 gave the team the lead by scoring in the 14th minute of the game.
Aaron scored the goal when Church Boys goalkeeper Krisal Moktan was ahead.
However, Bikram Dhimal scored a goal towards the end of the first half to level the score. Church Boys made a comeback with Vikram's goal in the 41st minute of the game. Captain Pema scored the decisive goal for Jhapa 11. In the 79th minute of the game, Pema directed the rebound ball from Church Boys' keeper Krisal to the goalpost. He was awarded the Player of the Match and received a cash prize of Rs 21,000.
The third quarterfinal match will be played between Kathmandu's New Road Team and Bangladesh's Kauroon Bazar Pragati Sangh tomorrow, Sunday.
The winner of the Gold Cup will receive a cash prize of Rs 1.3 million and the runner-up will receive a trophy along with Rs 700,000. The best player of the tournament will receive a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh. Similarly, the best goalkeeper, top scorer, emerging player and coach will receive a cash prize of Rs 25,000. The player of the match of each match will be given a cash prize of Rs 21,000.
