In the match between two new entrant teams Jhapa Football Club and Sporting Ilam Football Club towards the second Nepal Super League (NSL), Ilam won the result in their favor.
In the only match played at Dasharath Stadium on Monday, Ilam won by a narrow margin of 1 goal against Jhapa. In the 87th minute for Elam, Senegalese forward Amath Endao scored the only decisive goal.
The first half of the game ended in a goalless draw. In the 81st minute of the second half, Yogesh Gurung of Jhapa brought down the player of Ilam inside the box, and Ilam got a penalty opportunity.
However, Amath, who became decisive in Ilam's victory, could not make use of that penalty shot. The ball he hit was out of the top of the box.
Ilam's Kamath was declared the man of the match.
Ilam, defeated by Kathmandu Razors in their first match, managed to add three important points to Jhapa. Jhapa, who had a bad start, will have to wait for their second game to add points to their account.
