
Dharan - Dharan-5 have made a winning start in the 23rd Godhuli Cup ward level football tournament, one of the oldest in Sunsari district, organized by Godhuli Club.
In the opening match at Dharan Stadium, Dharan-5 started victoriously by defeating Dharan-13 2-0. Sajan Limbu scored both goals for Dharan-5. Limbu was also chosen as the man of the match.
As part of the competition, the match on Magh 1st will be between Ward No. 2 and Ward No. 13, the organizers informed. The tournament was inaugurated by the chief guest Surya Bahadur Bhattarai, Chairman of Ward No. 1, Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City.
The winner of the competition, which will run until the 14th of Magh, will receive a cash prize of Rs. 1,50,000 and the runners-up will receive Rs. 75,000. A total of 20 ward teams of Dharan sub-metropolitan city are participating in the competition.
