Karnali Province has qualified for the women's league for the first time after defeating Gandaki Province 2-0 in their last match of the league stage.
After defeating Gandaki at the Karnali Pradesh Stadium in Surkhet on Thursday, Karnali qualified for the league by finishing third. While Karnali scored 12 points from the same 6 matches, Madhesh scored only 10 points.
Barsha Wali of Karnali scored a goal in the sixth minute to give victory to Karnali against Gandaki. Sabina missed a good chance to score in the 30th minute of the game. Sanjita Bomjon scored the second goal for Karnali within 2 minutes of missing the opportunity on an assist by Barsha from the right side.
The 2 goals scored in the first half were decisive and Karnali qualified for the women's league for the first time.
Already, Koshi and Sudurpaschim Province have been selected for the women's league by becoming first and second respectively.
Koshi is undefeated with 5 wins and 1 loss in 6 games and 16 points while Sudurpaschim is selected with 12 points with 4 wins and 1 loss out of 5 games.
The second match to be played between Sudurpaschim and Lumbini Province today and Thursday will be for formalities only.
