Province 4 Buddha Youth Club and Abhishek Church Advance to Quarterfinals of 32nd Triveni Cup

Besishahar, Lamjung – Buddha Youth Club and Abhishek Church, Rajahar, have secured their spots in the quarterfinals of the ongoing 32nd Triveni Cup National Knockout Football Tournament at Triveni Stadium in Besishahar on Tuesday.

In the opening match, Buddha Youth Club narrowly defeated Marsyangdi Youth Club 1-0. The only goal of the match came from Shiva Subedi, who found the back of the net in the 34th minute, ensuring a hard-fought victory for Buddha Youth Club.

The second match of the day was a thrilling encounter between Abhishek Church and Sankata Football Club. After a 2-2 draw in regular time, the match was decided in a penalty shootout. Both teams had their standout performers, with Mingso Limbu scoring both goals for Abhishek Church, while Sankata’s captain, Kuldeep Karki, netted a brace, one of which was a penalty. In the tiebreaker, Abhishek Church held their nerve to win 5-3 and advance to the next round.

Looking ahead, the quarterfinals will kick off on Wednesday, Poush 17, with the first match featuring APF Football Club against Machhindra Football Club. The second quarterfinal will see New Road Team (NRT) take on Tokha Bhagwati Club.

The 32nd Triveni Cup, organized by Triveni Yuva Club, promises to be an exciting competition, with the winner set to receive a cash prize of NPR 1.2 million and the prestigious title. The runner-up will take home NPR 600,000. The final match will take place on poush 20.
