Chathar Jorpati Dhankuta became the champion in the men's football tournament of the historic Madan Mela 2081 held at the local Trimohan Mavi's sports ground.

In the final match, visiting team Dhankuta defeated Fombo Awajung Welfare Society Khamlalung in sudden death and defended the title. In the competitive match, both teams played a goalless draw at the scheduled time.

The match was pushed to sudden death after the tie breaker was chosen to decide. In which 8-8 was shot. Dhankuta became the champion with a 6-5 goal difference against Fombo Samaj.

Along with the title, Dhankuta received 2 lakhs in cash and a running shield. The top scorer of the match was Sushil Limbu of Fombo society. Pujan Thapa of Dhankuta was the best defender, Prem Limbu of Dhankuta was the best goalkeeper, Vishal Kafle of Dhankuta was the best forward and Anup Sendang of Fombo society became the best player.
Fombo Samaj, who became the runner-up, settled for 130,000 in cash. 27 teams participated in the competition which started on 13th of Jestha.
