Late Durga Devi Shrestha Veteran football tournament is going to be held in Birtamod, Jhapa.

The preparations for the tournament to be held at the Domalal Rajvanshi Stadium from 31st Baisakh have reached the final stage.

The organizer Purveli Yuva Pariwar Birtamod held a press conference at the playground today and informed about the preparation of the competition. The match schedule of the tournament to be organized by Purveli Yuva Club, a joint organization of the leading youth of Birtamod, has also been announced.

In the opening match of the competition, the host Nilaye will face our Itahari Veterans FC. Other competing teams are Bharaul Veterans FC, Biratnagar Veterans FC, Jhiljile Veterans FC, Chandragarhi Veterans FC, Ilam Veterans FC and host Blue.

The acting president of the club, Deepen Chaudhary, informed that the final match will be held on 7th of Baisakh. Coordinator Tekraj Tiling informed that eight teams will participate in the competition that the club is going to organize in memory of Durgadevi Shrestha, the mother of Ravin Shrestha, the president of the organization.

The winner of the competition will get Rs 1 lakh 1 thousand 111 in cash, trophy and medal, while the runner-up will get Rs 55 thousand 555 in cash, acting president Chaudhary said. Similarly, the player of the match of each game will get cash 2500 and a trophy. The best player of the tournament will be awarded 10,000 cash and a trophy. Likewise, the best goalkeeper, defender, midfielder, forward, top scorer and coach of the competition will receive cash of five thousand and a trophy, said coordinator Teeling.

The press conference was welcomed by the vice president of the club, Prakash Subedi, while the operation was conducted by the secretary of the club, Diwakar Prasain. President Shrestha has given the cash prize to the winner, while Tuborg Beer will provide the prize to the runner-up, it was informed at the press conference. Birtamod's Joya brand has provided jerseys and t-shirts for the organizers.
