Defending champions Dholahiti Freedom won the title of the second ABC 45 Plus 8 A Side Veterans Football Tournament.
After defeating Hetauda Veterans by 4-2, the defending champion Dholahiti won the title of the second ABC Forty Five Plus at A Side Veterans Football Tournament at Pokhara stadium.
Along with the title, Dholahiti received 1 lakh 55 thousand 555 shields, medals and certificates in cash. Runner-up Hetouda had to settle for 77,777 in cash. In the tournament, Prakash Rana Magar from Dholahit was able to become the man of the match. In the same tournament, Tej Bahadur Galami was declared the best player from Dholahiti. The best player Galami received 10,000 in cash and a trophy.
In the final match, Prakash Rana Magar scored 2 goals and Saroj Thapa and Rajkumar KC scored 1 each, while Shashi Gautam and Sanjay Rana Magar scored 1 each from Hetauda. The winners of the competition were presented with cash, shields, medals, trophies and certificates by Saraswati Gurung, Member of the Gandaki Provincial Assembly, Rajesh Gurung, President of Amarsingh Boys Club ABC and others.
Speaking on the occasion, Saraswati Gurung, a member of the Gandaki Provincial Assembly, said that no significant work has been done for the development of sports from the government level, adding that the support and cooperation of local clubs, associations and individuals is indispensable for the development of sports.
Rajesh Gurung, President of Amarsingh Boys Club, said that they have been organizing sports programs for the purpose of maintaining mutual brotherhood and providing support for physical fitness, targeting the forty-five years old rather than the youth, and expressed gratitude to all those who helped to make the competition a success.
