Rajarani Vetran Club, Dhankuta has made a winning start in the 4th Itahari Vetran Gold Cup International Invitational Knockout Football Tournament.
In the opening match, Rajarani made a winning start by defeating Damak Lakhanpur Veteran Club, Jhapa 3-2.
Ramesh Gurung scored two goals for Rajarani and Surya Kumar Gurung scored one more goal in the match at the playground of Janata Universal Campus located in Itahari-5. Suman Acharya and Hari Bahadur Sherma scored goals for the defeated Damak Lakhanpur.
Ramesh Gurung, who scored two goals for Rajarani in the match, was declared the man of the match. With this win, Rajarani has also entered the semi-finals. As part of the competition, the quarterfinal match on Sunday 27th Falgun will be between the organizers of our Itahari Vetran Club, Itahari and Birat Megha Sports Academy Vetran, Biratnagar.
Before that, the competition was inaugurated by Hemkarn Paudel, the city chief of Itahari, in the middle of a program. The winner of the inaugural competition organized by our Itahari Veteran Club will receive a cash prize of 100,000 and the runner-up will receive 61,000. The final match will be held on the 3rd of Chaitra.
