Phulbari Guys, Butwal won the title of Kanchan Cup Open Knockout Football Tournament. In the final, Phulbari became the champion by defeating the home team Kanchan-11 by 2 goals against zero.
In the match at the Himalaya Community Playground located in Kanchan-4, Deobazar, Sadip KC and Saroj Darlami played a decisive role in making the team the winner by scoring one goal each for Phulbari.
Phulbari, who became the winner, received 250,000 in cash along with the title, while the runner-up Kanchan got 115,000 and got a trophy and medal.
In the individual category, Anup Rana of Phulbari was selected as the best goalkeeper. Kanchan's captain Asim Gurung was chosen as the best defender while Kanchan's Ayush Gurung was chosen as the best midfielder. Similarly, Phulbari captain Saroj Chhetri won the highest scorer award.
The winners and runners-up were awarded by the Chief Guest of Lumbini Sports Council Member Secretary Jayaprakash Bhattarai, Chairman of Kanchan Rural Municipality Navraj Dhakal, Vice Chairman Vice Chairman Mousumi Thapa, Chairman of Organizing Committee Prakash Thapa and others.
A total of 10 teams participated in the competition, which started on Falgun 16, under the aegis of Himalaya Community Development Center, Kanchan-4, Deobazar, Rupandehi.
