New Srijana Youth Club, Karaujia, has entered the semi-finals of the 7th Sanjivani Cup Open Knockout Football Tournament in memory of the late Lal Bahadur and Dammar Kumari Chhantel.
In the second quarter-final held on Monday, New Srijana defeated Udaya Youth Club, Bardaghat, Nawalparasi by a margin of 5 goals to zero and made it to the last four.
In New Srijana's victory, Himal Thapa Magar scored a hat-trick and Samir Nepali scored two more goals. Samir Nepali of New Srijana was also declared the Man of the Match in the match.
The third quarter-final match of the tournament will be played between Amuwa Youth Club, Amuwa and Jharana Sports Club, Kunjalapur on Tuesday, Magh 22, informed the match coordinator Khim Thapa.
The winner of the competition, organized by Sanjivani Youth Club, Tilottama-14, Bagdhura, Devinagar, will receive a cash prize of Rs 1,22,222 along with the title, while the runner-up will receive a trophy, medal and certificate along with Rs 61,111. The final match will be held on Magh 27.
