With a great victory, New Road Team (NRT) has entered the quarter finals of the local level Shahid Smriti 6th Makwanpur Gold Cup International Invitational Knockout Football Tournament in Hetauda.

In the pre-quarter finals held on Wednesday, NRT entered the last eight by scoring 3 goals against the previous edition runners-up Himalayan Sherpa Football Club.

Saroj Tamang, Rohan Khadgi and Sumit Shrestha scored goals for NRT in the match at under construction Gauritar Stadium. NRT's Saroj Tamang was declared the man of the match.

As part of the competition, the pre-quarterfinal match on Thursday will be held between Machindra Football Club and APF Football Club, the organizers informed.

Organized by Makwanpur District Football Association and under the management of New Danfe Football Club, Hetauda, the winner of the competition will receive 1.5 million in cash along with the title, while the runner-up will receive 1 million. The final match will be held on Magh 27.
