News 1st NRNA Ilam Gold Cup: Birtamod United FC Enters Final

Jhapa's Birtamod United FC has entered the finals of the ongoing Ilam Gold Cup after defeating the title contenders Panchthar FC.

In the last semi-final match in a big match today, Birtamod got lucky in the tie breaker and went up to the title race. Birtamod defeated Panchthar with a 4-2 goal difference. Both teams played a goalless draw during the scheduled 90 minutes.

Ashok Khawas of Panchthar's shot was blocked by Jhapa's goalkeeper Sandeep Limbu, and Biju Bhujel's shot went out. Only Simon Limbu and Sudip Shrestha's shots turned into goals for Panchthar. Birtamod's Bishal Darji's shot was blocked by Panchthar's goalkeeper Roshan Nepal. However, after Anjal Gurung, Diwas Uraw, Rohan Karki and Pradeep Budhathoki's shots turned into goals, Birtamod has secured at least 3 lakh rupees.

On January 13, Birtamod will compete for the title with the visiting team New Road Team (NRT) from Kathmandu. The winner of the Gold Cup organized by Redhorse FC will get a cash prize of 5 lakhs and a trophy.
