
Makwanpur (GoalNepal) - Makwanpur Poultry Association have won the title of Futsal competition between the Facility Associations organized by the Makwanpur Authorized Sellers Association on the auspicious occasion of Subha Dipawali and Chhath festival.
In the final played on Saturday, the score was tied at 4-4 in the scheduled time, and the decision of the match had to be taken by penalty shootout. In the penalty shootout, the Poultry Traders Association defeated hosts Makwanpur Authorized Sellers' Association 2-0 and received Rs. 30,000 along with the title.
Similarly, the Makwanpur Authorized Sellers Association, which succeeded in becoming the runners-up, had to settle for Rs. 15,000. 12 different associations participated in the competition which started on Friday. Bharat Titung, a veteran player of the Poultry Association, was the man of the match in the final, and Prabesh Acharya of the host team, who performed excellently, was declared the best player in the tournament.
Amar Gurung and Raju Lama of the Poultry Association won the best goalkeeper and top scorer awards respectively. Chief guest Raju Adhikari and guests distributed the prizes to the winners and runners-up of the competition.
In the competition, the Makwanpur Authorized Dealers Association also honored Bikram Kumar Baniya, a sports journalist of GoalNepal.com, for playing a significant role in the development of sports in Makwanpur through sports journalism.
