News Makwanpur Gold Cup: Nepal Police Club Into The Final Eight

Nepal Police Club have qualified for the quarterfinals of the Local-level Martyr's Memorial Makwanpur Gold Cup 2079. Nepal Police Club defeated Khumaltar Youth Club 2-1 today to advance to the final eight.

In a rain-soaked matchup, Nepal Police Club scored two goals in the first ten minutes of the match through Abhishek Rijal and Bharat Saha. Khumaltar improved their gameplay after conceding two goals.

Khumaltar pulled one back goal in the second half through Diwas Chhantyal but Khumaltar fell short.

Despite the loss for his team, Diwas, who put in a stellar performance was named the player of the match and received Rs. 10,000.

Police will now face Manang Marshyangdi Club in the quarterfinals.

The winner of the competition will get Rs 15 lakhs in cash along with the title while the runner-up will get Rs 10 lakhs. Similarly, those who excel in the individual category will also be given Rs 25,000 cash and a trophy each.

The best player in the competition will get a motorcycle sponsored by the Hetauda School of Management.

A total of 10 teams including top clubs of the country will participate in the competition.
