
First Tamu Lhosar Women's Gold Cup, today, saw hosts Swatantra Club and The Seven Youth Club, Dhankuta start the tournament with wins.
Swatantra Club defeated Terhathum's Aathrai Village Municipality by 4-0 with a hat-trick from Mandira Tumrok and a goal from Shanti Fago. Mandira was adjudged the player of the match.
Similarly, in the second match of the day, The Seven Youth Club defeated Pathari Sanischare Women's FC in a tiebreaker to advance to the semifinals. The game ended 1-1 in normal time and the match was pushed to a shootout. Dhankuta won the tiebreaker 4-3.
Eight teams are participating in the tournament organized on the occasion of Tamu Lhosar from December 27 to 30. The winners will receive Rs. 50000 while runners-up will bag Rs. 30,000.
