Kathmandu, May 16, 2024 - Indian football icon and captain of the national team, Sunil Chhetri, has announced his decision to retire from international football.

In an emotional video posted on X, the star forward revealed that India's upcoming World Cup qualification match against Kuwait on June 6 will be his final appearance for the national team.

"One last game... for all our sakes... let's win the game and we can depart, happily," Chhetri said, addressing his fans and teammates in the heartfelt message.
