The Nepali women's national football team landed in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, about half an hour ago following a long journey that included a lengthy flight and transit.
The players are currently resting after having some snacks, with no training session scheduled for today. The temperature in Tashkent is currently 30°C.
Head coach Patrick De Wilde commented on the team's arrival, saying, “The trip of around 20 hours was a headache. We’ll use today to recover and freshen up. Starting tomorrow, we’ll begin effective training sessions. However, we do have a team-building class tonight to help with adaptation and activation.”
Nepal will kick off their campaign against Laos on June 29.
They are placed in a group with hosts Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka, and Laos. Only the group winner will qualify for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 in Australia.
