Maghe Sakranti knockout football championship got underway at Naxalbari, Morang on Friday.

Maghe Sakranti knokcout football championship got underway at Naxalbari, Morang on Friday.

Letang FC defeated Naxalbari FC 3-0 in the opening match. Bijaya Bhujel (42'), Bhuwan Rai (57') and Umesh Karki (62') scored apiece for the winners.

Bijaya Bhujel became the player of the match.

Earlier, Morang DFA president Dipendra Dhimal inaugurated the championship.

Dangihat FC will play against Taltalaiya FC on Saturday.
