
Unlucky Nepal played 1-1 draw against Maldives in SAFF U18 championship 2019 at Nepal APF grounds on Friday.
Nepal conceded an early goal through spot but they controlled the match throughout the stipulated time. They wasted at least seven clear goal scoring chances. They event hit the woodwork twice.
Maldives skipper Hassan Nazeem scored through spot in 13th minute. Nepal pressed hard for the equalizer but they had to wait till 75th minute.
Manish Dangi headed the ball home utilizing a cross from Birjesh Chaudhary.
Nepal had many goal scoring chances in the wee hours but their front liners were too blunt.
Nepal will now take on Bhutan on September 22, 2019. There are Nepal, Maldives and Bhutan in the group. India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are in another group. Two teams from each group will go to semifinals.
