2nd Far Western Khaptad Gold Cup got underway at Dhangadi Stadium, Dhangadi on Friday.

Hosts Far Western SC defeated Chyasal Youth Club Sahara 5-4 on penalties in the opener of 2nd Far Western Khaptad Gold Cup at Dhangadi Stadium, Dhangadi on Friday.

With the win, the hosts advanced to the semifinals of the tournament.

The teams played 1-1 draw in the regulation time. Segun Eyitayo scored for Chyasal in 26th minute whereas Binod KC levelled the score for hosts in 40th minute.

Sahara Club will face Nepal APF Club in the first pre-quarterfinal match on Saturday.

Far Western XI sports club is organizing the championship, which has a winning purse of Rs 11,11,111.
