In a tightly contested bout, Gorkha Boys Sports Club of Butwal secured their spot in the semi-finals of the prestigious Chief Minister Kohlpur Gold Cup International Invitational Knockout Football Tournament. In the second semi-final clash, which took place on Thursday, Gorkha Boys emerged victorious over Sudurpaschim-11 Sports Club from Dhangadhi with a narrow 1-0 victory, earning them a coveted spot in the final four.

The solitary goal of the match was expertly netted by Shakti Rai, representing Gorkha Boys, a goal that ultimately proved to be the game-changer in the thrilling contest, which unfolded at the Thir Bigaha Playground in Kohalpur Municipality-2. Sadeep KC, who showcased an exceptional performance for Gorkha Boys, was rightfully crowned the Man of the Match.

The tournament organizers have announced that the first semi-final match is slated for Friday, the 17th of Kartik, and will feature an intense showdown between the formidable contenders Church Boys United and Gorkha Boys Sports Club.

Notably, the champion of this inaugural competition, presented by Racing Sahara Club in Kohalpur-2, Banke, will be awarded a substantial cash prize of 8 lakhs, in addition to the prestigious title, while the runner-up will receive a respectable reward of 4 lakhs. All eyes are now on the final match, scheduled to take place on the 22nd of Kartik.
