News MATCHDAY: Sri Lanka vs Nepal , SAFF U-17 Championship Semi-final

Nepal U17 will play against Sri Lanka U17 in the second semifinal of the SAFF U17 championship today in Colombo. The match will begin at 8 PM local time at the Racecourse Stadium in Colombo.

Nepal defeated Bhutan and India on their way to the semifinals as group winners. Sri Lanka defeated the Maldives in a must-win encounter to reach this stage after a heavy loss to Bangladesh.

Nepal are in high spirits after a brilliant win against India. Head coach Urjan Shrestha stated that the team is confident after that victory. Shrestha also hinted the return of Nepal skipper Prashant Laksham who missed the match against India after suffering an injury against Bhutan.

India will face Bangladesh in the first semifinal earlier in the day. India defeated Bhutan and succumbed to Nepal on Friday afternoon to finish second in Group B. In group A, Bangladesh finished at the top with two dominant displays, scoring ten goals in two matches against the Maldives and Sri Lanka. 

Six South Asian sides are competing for the title in Sri Lanka.
