
Hosts Bijay Youth Club have made it to the semi-finals of the Local-level Martyr's Memorial Makwanpur Gold Cup 2079. BYC defeated Nawa Jana Jagriti Youth Club, Simara in the quarterfinals today to make it to the final four.
For BYC, local hero Amir Shrestha scored in the 54th minute to give them the lead. Sanjok Rai doubled the lead for them in the 64th minute. And towards the end of the match, Sunil Ghalan scored to round-off a convincing win for the local side.
Sunil Ghalan was named the player of the match and received Rs. 10,000 in cash.
They will now face Nepal Police Club in the semi-finals tomorrow.
Today, Church Boys Club and Avenir FC are scheduled to face each other at 4:00 PM in the final quarterfinal of the tournament.
The winner of the competition will get Rs 15 lakhs in cash along with the title while the runner-up will get Rs 10 lakhs. Similarly, those who excel in the individual category will also be given Rs 25,000 cash and a trophy each.
A total of 12 teams including top clubs of the country are participating in the competition.
