The second edition of Golbazar Mayor Gold Cup kicked off at under construction Golbazar stadiu, Siraha on Sunday.

Birgunj United defeated DFC, Morang 2-1 in the opening match to enter semifinals.

Bibek Chaudhary scored an early goal for Birgunj United in the 2nd minute. Kripa Kant Chaudhary doubled the lead in the 33rd minute. Surendra Khawas scored a consolation goal in the 35+1 minute.

The match was of 70 minutes stipulated time, 35 minutes in each half.

Bahini Nepal Army will play against Fusuion Football Club, Udayapur in the second quarterfinal match tomorrow.

Gol Bazar City sports development committee in coordination with Golbazar Municipality is organizing the championship in which eight teams are taking part.
