Sankata club defeated Nepal Police Club 2-0 on Wednesday to enter semifinals in Chandragiri gold cup football tournament in Kathmandu.

Foreign recruits, Florence and Martins scored apiece for the winners. Both goals were scored within seven minutes of first half.

Florence scored first in 5th minute utilizing a cross from Amit Tamang. Martin scored second two minutes later.

Policemen recovered but wasted as many as six goal scoring chances in the second half.

Florence became the man of the match and he received Rs 3,000 cash.

Sankata will meet Friends club in the semifinal match on Mangsir 2.

Bright youth club is organizing the championship, which has a winning purse of Rs 5 lakhs.
