The SAFF Club Championship officially kicked off in Kathmandu with an exciting opening day at the Dasharath Stadium.
The first match of the tournament featured Bhutan’s Transport United FC and Pakistan’s Karachi FC, who played out a competitive and closely-contested 0–0 draw.
Both sides created moments of promise throughout the match, but neither team was able to break the deadlock, settling for a point each to begin their SAFF campaign.
The focus now shifts to the second match of the day, where Nepal’s departmental side APF FC will take on Bangladesh’s Nasrin Academy later this evening. APF FC, playing in front of home supporters, will be aiming to start strong and make a statement in the regional championship, while Nasrin Academy will look to spoil the home team’s plans with a solid performance of their own.
This year’s SAFF Club Championship is being organized by the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) and is managed by the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA). The tournament brings together top clubs from the region, providing an important platform to strengthen regional football ties and promote competitive club football in South Asia.
