
Kathmandu, April 25 – Defending champions Lalitpur City FC will face off against first-time finalists Pokhara Thunders in the grand finale of the third edition of the Nepal Super League (NSL) under the lights at Dasharath Stadium.
After an intense month-long competition featuring 24 matches, the tournament has boiled down to two deserving finalists. Both sides have expressed confidence and determination ahead of the highly anticipated title clash.
Lalitpur City FC and Pokhara Thunders Set for Epic NSL Final Showdown
Lalitpur City FC head coach Grayson shared his optimism, stating that his team is well-rested and well-prepared following a week-long break.
“We are confident but not overconfident,” said Grayson. “The rest has given us time to prepare and regroup. We’re ready for the challenge.”
Lalitpur captain Ananta Tamang echoed his coach’s sentiments, emphasizing the team’s focus and readiness to defend their crown.
On the other hand, Pokhara Thunders are riding high on momentum and morale as they prepare for their first-ever NSL final. Head coach Suman Shrestha expressed excitement and belief in his squad’s unity and energy.
“Everyone is ready. The team spirit is high, and now it’s about delivering the result we’ve worked for,” said Shrestha.
Pokhara skipper Nawayug Shrestha highlighted the significance of the occasion.
“We’re here to win the NSL trophy – and doing it against a strong side like Lalitpur makes it even more important,” said Shrestha.
The winner of the final will take home a grand prize of NRs 80 lakh (approximately USD 58,000), while fans across the country eagerly await a thrilling conclusion to Nepal’s premier franchise football league.
