The National Women's Football Tournament is kicking off today in Chitwan.

The tournament is being organized by the Chitwan District Football Association and promoted by Bharatpur Metropolitan City. Eight teams are taking part in the tournament that will run until Chaitra 9 at the Krishnapur Sports Ground in Bharatpur 7.

APF Football Club, Nepal Police Club, Tribhuvan Army Football Club, Chitwan, Makawanpur, Rautahat, Bagmati and Sankata Club will participate in the tournament. The participating teams have been divided into two groups. Chitwan and Makawanpur will face each other in the opening match of the tournament. The match will be held at 2 pm, informed Chitwan District Football Association President Shree Krishna Karki. The winner of the tournament will receive 300,000 rupees along with a trophy, and the runner-up will receive 150,000 rupees.

Similarly, the best player will receive 40,000 rupees, the best player in the category will receive 20,000 rupees, and the player of the match every day will receive 10,000 rupees. Entry to the opening match of the tournament is free. Similarly, Karki, the association's president, said that arrangements have been made for Nrs 50 tickets for the first phase, 100 for the semi-finals, and 200 for the finals.
