
Shree Kumari Club and RCT have entered the semi-finals of the ongoing Laxminarayan (Lakshya) Memorial Cup Open Knockout Football Tournament here.
In the quarter-final match held at the Panauti Regional Stadium, Shree Kumari defeated Saraswati Boys Club 4-3 in a tiebreaker. Before that, both teams played an exciting 3-3 draw in the regular time.
In the regular time, Vinod Dhamala scored two goals for Shree Kumari and Rajkumar Syangtan scored another goal. On the other hand, Dipesh Thapa, Saman Shrestha and Bishesh Lama scored goals for Saraswati Boys. In the tiebreaker, Saraswati Boys lost to Shree Kumari. Shree Kumari's Vinod Dhamala was named Man of the Match in the match.
Similarly, in the other quarter-final match, RCT defeated Banepa-11 FC 5-4 in a sudden death match. Both teams played a goalless draw in the regular time. Nikhil Tamang of RCT was declared the Man of the Match in the match.
The winner of the tournament, jointly organized by Maneshwori Boys Club and Maneshwori Women's Group, Panauti, Kavrepalanchok, will receive a cash prize of Rs 200,000 along with the title, while the runner-up will receive Rs 100,000. A total of 18 teams will participate in the tournament and the final match will be held on Falgun 13.
