News Chandragiri Vs Kathmandu Metro In The Final Of Inter Municipal Cup

Chandragiri Municipality and Kathmandu Metropolitan City will meet in the final of the Inter Municipal Open Mayor's Cup Football Tournament.

Chandragiri defeated Mahalakshmi Municipality and Kathmandu defeated Madhyapur Thimi Municipality to reach the finals of the competition. Chandragiri defeated Mahalakshmi Municipality 1-0 in the first semi-final at Chaisal Stadium. Chandragiri was gifted with Mahalakshmi's Nishan Rawal's own goal in the 55th minute of the match.

Chandragiri's Silva Kandagwa was declared man of the match. 5000 in cash and a trophy was handed over to him by Mahalakshmi Municipality Deputy Mayor Lakshmi Marhajan on behalf of Godavari Municipality.

Similarly, Mahalakshmi's Nishan Basnet got the emerging player award in that match. He was jointly awarded by Mahalakshmi Deputy Mayor Marhajan and Director of Welcome Party Palace in Ward No. 10 of Godavari Municipality, Subas Pudasaini.

Similarly, in the second semi-final, Kathmandu defeated Madhyapur Thimi municipality by the same margin of 1-0 and secured the final place. The only goal scored by Manish Sedhai in the 53rd minute for Mahanagara was decisive.

Anil Khadka from Kathmandu was declared the man of the match. Krishnahari Acharya, spokesperson of Madhyapur Thimi, handed over the trophy and a cash check of 5,000. Amar Shrestha from Madhyapur was declared the emerging player in the match. He was awarded by Niroj Bajracharya, the coordinator of the competition.

As the match could not be played at Jhyaluntar ground of Godavari multi-purpose stadium due to rain, both the semi-final matches were played at Chyasal.

The organizers informed that the final match on Saturday will be played at the Jhyaluntar ground. The winner of the competition will receive a cash prize of 5 lakhs along with the title, while the runner-up will receive 3 lakhs.
