
Makwanpur (GoalNepal) - Sankata Club, who have prepared a strong team by bringing in star players for the upcoming season, have entered the semi-finals of the fifth Bagmati Gold Cup International Invitational Football Competition.
In the last quarter-final held on Friday, Sankata defeated the departmental team APF Football Club 1-0 and entered the last four. The only goal scored by Messouke Oloumou in the 85th minute toward the end of the game became decisive at the playground of Janata Ma Vi located in Bagmati Rural Municipality-8.
Messouke was declared the man of the match. He received 5,000 cash and a trophy as an award. Sankata will play against the home team, Makwanpur-11 on Magh 1st in the second semi-final.
The organizers informed that the first semi-final will be held between Jawalakhel Youth Club and Bhutanese Youth Sports Club, USA tomorrow.
The winners of the tournament organized by Bagmati Rural Municipality Sports Development Committee, Jhurjhure, Makwanpur will receive eight lakhs in cash along with the title, while the runners-up will receive four lakhs. The final will be held on Magh 3.
