
Baneshwor Veterans, Kathmandu and ABC Veterans, Pokhara are going to compete for the title of the eighth National Veterans Cup in Hetauda.
Baneshwor qualified for the final after defeating Simara Veterans, Bara 4-0 in the semi-final held at Piple-Campa stadium in Hetauda-5. Narayan Karki scored two goals and Umesh Lama and Yuvraj Bhujel each scored one goal each for Baneshwor. Baneshwor's Narayan Karki was declared the man of the match.
Similarly, the defending champions, ABC Veterans of Pokhara defeated Manang Marshyangdi Veterans 3-2 in the tiebreaker and confirmed the title clash.
The match went to a tiebreaker after the scheduled time was goalless. In the tiebreaker, Bikarna Shrestha, Bishwalal Shrestha and Narendra Jung Gurung Mukhia scored for ABC, while only Naresh Shrestha and Shishir Bikram Hamal scored for Manang.
Goalkeeper Khim Bahadur Gurung of ABC was declared the man of the match.
The final match of the tournament will be held on Saturday. The winners of the competition will receive a cash prize of Rs. 1,11,111 along with the title, while the runners-up will receive Rs. 55,555. Similarly, the organizers informed that attractive prizes have also been arranged for the individual category.
