
Former ANFA VP & president of Himalayan Sherpa club, Karma Tsering Sherpa has announced his candidacy for ANFA president.
Sherpa announced his candidacy amid a program held in Kathmandu on Saturday.
Large number of football administrators from districts, A,B & C division clubs were present in the program.
Three VPs at ANFA; Bijaya Narayan Manandhar, Kishor Jhapali and Bir Bahadur Khadka; have supported Sherpa for the post of president.
Two other candidates, former CEO Indraman Tuladhar and former Nepal coach Krishna Thapa, withdrew their candidacy and provided their full support to Sherpa.
Honorary ANFA president Tashi Ghale and former Nepal international and former Nepal Police AIG Bigyan Raj Sharma have also given their thumbs up to Sherpa.
Representatives from districts, A, B & C division have also vowed to give their full support to Sherpa in the upcoming election.
Speaking in the program, Sherpa said that he will reveal roadmap of Nepalese football within three months if he gets elected.
"We (our team) will announce the date of league within a month if we get elected", said Sherpa.
He also added that ANFA would run through collective leadership and would reform ANFA soon after his victory in the election.
Current ANFA president Narendra Shrestha and VP Mani Kunwar are also expected to run for the post. ANFA election is all set for March 28, 2018.
