Maldives To Host SAFF Championship 2021

Maldives will host SAFF championship 2021.

SAFF confirmed the host country today in its virtual meeting. Bangladesh was supposed to host the event in September but they failed to host the event for various reasons.

Maldives and Nepal had submitted the bid for the tournament, which will be held in October 1-13, 2021.

SAFF will confirm the number of participating teams in a few days. Pakistan is banned by FIFA whereas Bhutan is reluctant to send its team abroad due to COVID reasons.

Nepal have never won the title of SAFF Championship. India is the most successful team.
