Karnali Province defeated Bagmati Province 3-2 in ANFA Women's League Qualifiers on Thursday. This is Karnali's second win in the league.
In the match at the Karnali Stadium in Surkhet, Sunkala Rai scored in the 41st minute, Lalita Kurmi Bhat in the third minute of injury time of the first half and Garima Rai in the 89th minute for Karnali. For Bagmati, Sumita Tamang scored in the 45th minute and Sunmaya Gurung scored in the first minute of injury time of the second half.
After winning the second time in three games, Karnali has climbed to the third place with 6 points. Even though Sudurpaschim has the same number of points, Karnali is behind in goal difference. After losing to Koshi in the first match, Karnali defeated Madhesh Pradesh in the second match.
This is Bagmati's third consecutive defeat. Bagmati was earlier defeated by Madhesh and Lumbini provinces.
Only Bagmati has not won a match so far and is at the bottom of the tournament with no points.
