Province 5 Rupandehi: Khasyauli FC Clinches Title Of 1st Gautam Buddha Cup

Khasyauli Football Club, Butwal won the title of the first Gautam Buddha Cup Open Knockout Football Tournament held on Thursday.

In the final, Khasyauli defeated Janjyoti Yuva Club, Dingarnagar 3-2 to capture the title. Ganesh Hamal scored two goals in Khasyauli's victory and Sabi Gurung scored one more goal. Biki Chamling Rai and Ayush Gurung scored goals for the defeated Janjyoti.

Khasyauli, who became the winner, received a cash prize of Rs 1,01,111 along with the title, while the runner-up Janjyoti was satisfied with a trophy, medal and certificate along with Rs 55,555. Ganesh Hamal of Khasyauli was chosen as the man of the match in the final match.

In other individual categories, the best goalkeeper was also chosen as the goldsmith of Khasyuli. Sumit Mallah of organizer Gautam Buddha became the best defender and Ayush Gurung of Janjyoti became the best midfielder. Similarly, Sabi Gurung of Khasyauli was declared the best forward.

Khasyauli captain Anuj Gaye was declared the best player of the tournament at the end of the season organized by Gautam Buddha, the emerging player of the tournament. The winners and runners-up players were awarded by Chief Guest Lumbini Province Physical Infrastructure Development Minister Bhumeshwar Dhakal, organizer Gautam Buddha Community Development Institute, Kanchan-5, Piparichapa President Kamal Darji, sports coordinator Roshan Pun and others.
