Nepal U23 head coach Bal Gopal Maharjan has taken a bold decision regarding three players who had violated code of the team when they were with senior side.

Maharjan has removed Bimal Gharti Magar, Anjan Bista & Dinesh Rajbanshi from SA Games squad. Another player Santosh Tamang wasn't included in SA Games squad.

These three players and Santosh Tamang had turned night-owl in Thamel a night before boarding a plane to Thimpu, Bhutan for home match against Kuwait. Nepal had lost the match 0-1 on November 19.

ANFA had immediately removed them from the team travelling to Thimpu. Its desciplinary committee is still investigating the issue and will take further action.

"We have removed them from the team. Rajesh Pariyar, Rajiv Lopchan and Prezen Tamang will replace them", coach Maharjan told GoalNepal.

When asked if the team would miss those banned players, coach Maharjan said, "It's a team game. We have other players who have to perform and prove their best".

ANFA hasn't published any official statement over coach Maharjan's decision.

Nepal is hosting the games from December 1-10 in three cities, Kathmandu, Pokhara and Janakpur. Men's football event will be played at Dasharath stadium, Kathmandu. Women's football event will be played at Pokhara stadium. Nepal had won gold medal in 12th SA Games.

Nepal will play against Bangladesh in the opening match.
