First Janajyoti Cup got underway at Butwal,Rupandehi on Friday.

Deshbhakta Yuwa Club, Nawalparasi defeated Pharsatikar Yuwa Club 4-3 on penalties in the opener at Janajyoti Youth Club ground, Butwal, Rupandehi.

The teams played 1-1 draw in the regulation time to push the match to spot kick battle.

Deshbhakta goalie Sailesh Kumar Kewat was adjudged the man of the match.

Sunaulo Sangam Yuwa Club will meet New Srijana Yuwa Club on Saturday.

Janajyoti Club, Dingarnagar is organizing the knock out tournament in which sixteen teams are taking part.

Winning team will bag one lakh one thousand one hundred and eleven rupees whereas runners-up team will receive fifty five thousand five hundred and fifty rupees.

Final match is scheduled on Poush 15.
