SAFF has granted hosting rights of SAFF Women's championship to the city of Biratnagar, Nepal on Friday.

 The event will be played from March 12-22, 2018.

This is huge because the city is going to host the big international event for the first time.

 Seven SAARC countries will take part in the event.

The city should immediately step in to make the event successful. 



What are the things they seriously need to pay attention:



Stadium:


The only football stadium of the country, Sahid stadium doesn’t meet criteria of AFC or FIFA. However they have four months to place the things in order. Biratnagar metro is constructing dressing rooms, toilets at the stadium. The other facilities (most importantly the playing field) must be top notch to convince ANFA for other international tournaments. 

If possible, the matches should be played under lights.

Security:

The organizers must take this matter seriously. They should start working with provincial government about the proper security arrangement.

Cleanliness: 


The city needs to be transformed. Since this is international tournament, the metro, Morang DFA must start campaign for cleanliness. 



Fans:



Biratnagar is a football loving city. The organizers must teach the fans about fan-culture. They can go to schools, college and offices to create awareness about fan culture and sportsmanship.



Preparation:



The organizers should request ANFA to set up women’s team camp in Biratnagar early. They can allow fans to see women team’s training camp to build up an attachment with the team.

Prestige:


This is huge for Biratnagar. They shouldn’t leave any stone unturned to make this event successful. They must show that Biratnagar is capable to host big events.
