Hosts Mai Valley FC moved to the quarterfinals of 4th Mai Valley Gold Cup defeating Kaski XI 3-2 in the opener at Thulo Tudikhel, Ilam on Thursday.

Mai Valley FC took lead in the 19th minute through Manish Thapa. Kaski XI had beatiful chance to score in the first half but they missed many chances.

Subash Rai doubled the lead in the 57th minute through spot-kick that Mai Valley earned after Man Bahadur Tamang commited foul to Bhuwan Basnet inside the box. Manish Thapa scored again to make the scoreline 3-0. Skipper Uttam Gurung and super sub Randip Paudel scored apiece in the 69th minute and 90+1 minute but it was not enough for Kaski XI to snatch victory from the hosts.
