
Purbeli Veteran Club, Jhapa, has entered the semi-finals with a winning start in the fifth Itahari Veteran Gold Cup International Football Tournament that began on Saturday.
Purveli Veteran defeated Hamro Dharan Veteran Club, Sunsari by 2 goals to zero in the opening match and entered the last four with a winning start.
Nagendra Limbu and Prem Kumar Limbu scored goals in Purveli Veteran's victory. Narendra Limbu of Purveli Veteran was declared the Man of the Match. The second quarter-final match of the tournament will be held on Sunday, Magh 6, between the organizers Hamro Itahari Veteran Club, Sunsari and Simara Veteran Club, Bara, the organizers informed.
Earlier, the chief guest of the inaugural program of the tournament was Revati Raman Bhandari, Minister of Internal Affairs and Law of Koshi Province, and other guests.
Organized by our Itahari Veteran Club, Sunsari, the winner of the preliminary competition will receive a title and a cash prize of Rs 111,000, while the runner-up will receive a trophy, medal, and certificate along with Rs 61,000. The final match will be held on Magh 12.
