News Bara: Unity Youth Club, Birgunj Clinches Title Of Veterans Cup

Unity Youth Birgunj has lifted the Creative Jeetpur Simara Veteran Cup title.

Birgunj lifted the title by defeating Play Together Jhapa 3-1 in the final match held at Simara Stadium on Saturday. Nilendra Dewan scored two goals and Krishna Shakya scored one goal to give Birgunj the title. Narendramani Limbu scored one goal for Jhapa. Birgunj, who won the title in the competitive final match, received one lakh rupees along with the trophy, while the runner-up received 50 thousand rupees.

Kanya Subba Gurung of Birgunj was declared the best player of the tournament. Nilendra Dewan of Birgunj was declared the best goal scorer in the category, Rupak Gurung of Jhapa was declared the best goalkeeper, and Sanjeev Khadgi of Birgunj was declared the best player over 50 years old.

The winners and runners-up were awarded prizes by the main sponsor Creative World Digital Pvt. Ltd. Chairman Kamal Babu Chaudhary, Armed Police Superintendent Mohan Basnet, Club Chairman Sonu Chhetri, Competition Coordinator Ram Pathak, Club Advisor Rishiraj Luite and others.

The competition, which started on November 21 and was organized by the Nava Janajagruti Veteran Club, had 16 teams participating. The program, chaired by Club Chairman Chhetri, was chaired by Competition Coordinator Pathak, who delivered the welcome address. The program was facilitated by mediaperson Pradeep Gautam.
