One of the strongest contenders for the title, the host Nepal has entered the semi-finals of the ongoing SAFF U-20 Championship as the group winner from Group A after defeating the runner-up of the last edition, Bangladesh.
In the last match of the group stage held on Thursday, Nepal defeated Bangladesh 2-1 to enter the semi-finals as the group winners.
Sameer Tamang and Nirajan Dhami scored for Nepal in the match at ANFA Complex. Mirazul Islam scored for defeated Bangladesh.
In Group A, Nepal has scored 6 points from three matches as group winners and Bangladesh has entered the semi-finals as group runners-up with three points. Sri Lanka is at the bottom without any points and has been eliminated from the group stage.
Nepal will probably face Bhutan in the semi-finals. Similarly, it is confirmed that Bangladesh will play against former champions India.
