ANFA CAT 4 Referee Course has started in Chitwan.

The referee course has started on Monday under the organization of Chitwan District Football Association and with the technical support of All Nepal Football Association.

Narayan Prasad Adhikari, head of District Coordination Committee Chitwan, inaugurated the course during a program today. The course, which will run until Jestha 13, is sponsored by the Central College of Vocational Training.

32 trainee referees including men and women from Chitwan, Dhading and Dhangadhi are participating in the referee course. Former FIFA referee Birendra Bahadur Pandey, Kalpana Sharma, Sachin Amatya and Rojen Shrestha will give them theoretical and practical training.

Referees who pass the course will be awarded a batch. Mr. Krishna Karki, President of Chitwan District Football Association, said that the course was started with the aim of producing skilled referees. He urged the participants to focus on becoming efficient referees.

The chief guest of the program said that refereeing is a respectable profession and asked to move forward with the goal of making it more dignified. He also asked to work hard with the goal of becoming a FIFA referee.

Chief Administrator of All Nepal Football Association and Head of Referee Department Gokul Thapa suggested to learn the rules and put them into practice during training. He asked them to consider it as a starting point for future referees. He asked them to work hard saying that there will be promotion and demotion from the year 2025.

Central College Principal Yagya Vilas Paudel (YB) said that it is necessary to make the referee profession more professional. He said that the referees still have to face many problems due to the inability to organize this profession. He promised to cooperate in such programs in the future as well.
