After goalkeeper Kishore Koirala became the hero in the tiebreaker, Ghairung FC Central College entered the semi-finals of the first Bharatpur Football Championship.
In the second quarter-final match on Thursday, Ghairung defeated Penguin Bharatpur 24 in a tiebreaker 3-1 and entered the semi-finals. In the tiebreaker, Ghairung's goalkeeper Kishore stopped two shots of Bharatpur 24 and one hit the fence.
Before that, it was tied 1-1 at the scheduled time. Bharatpur 24 took the lead in the game but could not save it. In the 15th minute of the game, Manish Giri scored a beautiful free kick goal to give Bharatpur 24 the lead.
Ghairung returned to the game in the first half. Sanjay Shrestha equalized in the 30th minute. Sanjay scored a beautiful header from winger Suresh Kumal's cross. There were no more goals in the game and it was pushed to a tiebreaker. In which Ghairung won. Goalkeeper Kishore of Ghairung was Man of the Match.
Ghairung will now face Central College 28 Bigah on Chait 6 for entering the final. 28 Bigah has already entered the semi-finals after defeating Hetauda Football Academy in the first quarter-final.
The third quarter-final match will be held on Friday in the tournament organized by Chitwan 11 Football Club. In the third quarter final, Rampur FC Rods and Abu Khairahani Rural Municipality will meet. The game will be played at 3 pm.
The winner of the competition, which will run until 10th of Chaitra, will receive Rs.3 lakh 3 thousand and the runner-up will get Rs. The competition has been organized on the occasion of Bharatpur visit year 2024.
