Jawalakhel Youth Club has entered the semi-finals of 23rd Aaha RARA Pokhara Gold Cup International Invitational Knockout Football Tournament.

In the third quarter-final held on Monday, Jawalakhel managed to enter the last four after defeating the 6-time winner Manang Masryangdi Club in sudden death. Prior to that, both the teams played an exciting 1-1 draw in the regular time match at Pokhara Stadium.

Hisub Thapalia scored for Jawalakhel and Rajesh Periyar scored for Manang. The match was pushed to a tiebreaker as a decision could not be reached in extra time added after the scheduled time.

Even in the tiebreaker, Javalakhel won 7-6 against Manang in sudden death and ensured a trip to the semi-finals. Jawalakhel goalkeeper Unesh Chaudhary was declared man of the match.

Under the competition, the fourth and final quarterfinal match on Tuesday, Magh 16, will be played between the departmental team Nepal Police Club and Church Boys United Club, the organizers informed.

The winner of the competition organized by Sahara Club, Pokhara will receive 1.2 million cash along with the title, while the runner-up will receive 0.6 million. The final match will be held on the 20th of Magh.
